Green Tractor Scheme 2026: Punjab Subsidy, Eligibility and Online Application Guide
The Green Tractor Scheme is a Punjab government programme that helps eligible farmers purchase tractors at a subsidised price. Its purpose is to make agricultural machinery more affordable and support timely farming operations.
For the 2026–27 programme year, the Punjab Agriculture Department lists two categories: Phase IV for low-power tractors and Phase V for high-power tractors. Each category has a different subsidy, tractor horsepower range and minimum landholding requirement.
This guide explains the main details, how to find the official application channel and what farmers should check before applying.
What Is the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme?
The Chief Minister’s Punjab Green Tractor Programme provides government support towards the purchase of an eligible tractor. Successful farmers pay their required share under the rules of the relevant phase.
It is a tractor subsidy programme, rather than a monthly cash payment. Applicants should not assume that selection means receiving a completely free tractor.

Latest Update: Is Registration Open?
Update checked: 10 October 2026.
An October 3 report quoting local Agriculture Department officials stated that the Phase V application deadline was October 5, 2026. That reported date has now passed. A later extension could not be verified from the official information available during this check.
Farmers should therefore check the latest official notice before attempting a new application. The presence of a registration form or login page alone does not confirm that applications are currently being accepted.
Older notices may also refer to payment deadlines for previous phases. A deadline for selected farmers to deposit their contribution is different from a deadline for new applications.
Who Can Apply?
The published landholding requirements are at least five acres for Phase IV and at least seven acres for Phase V. Other eligibility conditions should be checked in the official advertisement and application instructions.
Before applying, farmers should confirm:
- Whether their landholding qualifies for the selected category.
- Whether their land records match their identity details.
- Which tractor models are approved.
- Whether previous beneficiaries can apply again.
- How much they must contribute after selection.
Do not apply using another person’s land details or submit incorrect acreage information.

Documents and Information to Prepare
The official Green Tractor portal displays fields for CNIC, phone number, tractor brand, model and horsepower.
To prepare for an application, keep the following available:
- A valid CNIC.
- An active mobile number.
- Accurate agricultural land details.
- Relevant land ownership records.
- Your preferred eligible tractor category.
The final document checklist must come from the current application form. Additional declarations or supporting records may be required for a particular phase.
How to Apply for the Green Tractor Scheme
When an application window is officially open, follow these steps:
- Visit the Punjab Agriculture Department website.
- Read the advertisement for the relevant phase.
- Follow its application link to the official Green Tractor portal.
- Enter the identity, contact and land information requested.
- Select an eligible tractor option where available.
- Complete the required documents and declarations.
- Review all information before submitting.
- Save any acknowledgement or application reference provided.
The Agriculture Department’s scheme page provides the official application route. Use its current instructions to confirm which category is accepting applications.
What About Non-Computerised Land Records?
According to the October 2026 report, farmers from non-computerised mauzas could obtain forms from Agriculture Extension offices and submit them to the concerned Deputy Director Agriculture Extension. Farmers should confirm whether this arrangement remains available for the relevant application window.
How to Check the Balloting Result
The official portal includes a Green Tractor balloting result page.
Follow the instructions shown there and make sure you are checking the correct phase. The portal states that results are provisional, and winning applicants remain subject to screening. Appearing in a result therefore does not remove the need for verification.
Keep your application acknowledgement and any official selection message for reference.
How Much Will a Selected Farmer Pay?
The subsidy is only part of the tractor’s cost. The farmer’s contribution depends on the approved tractor price and the applicable programme terms.
For example, if an approved tractor costs Rs 25 lakh and the applicable subsidy is Rs 10 lakh, the remaining amount would be Rs 15 lakh, before any additional charges required under the scheme.
This is an illustration, not an official tractor quotation. Check the actual price, registration charges and payment instructions in your allotment documents before depositing money.
Is Green Tractor Registration Available Through 8171?
Farmers should use the Agriculture Department’s official application channel for this programme.
The 8171 system belongs to BISP and should not be treated as the registration system for every provincial scheme.
Likewise, food assistance has separate rules. Our Ehsaas Rashan Programme guide explains that programme separately.
